Walking and living by faith

What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? 17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. 18 But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. 19 You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble! 20 But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead?  (Yacov (Jacob/James) 2:14-26  (NKJV)

The 4th of July is American Independence Day. Though this had nothing to do with our – my wife & family’s decision, back on 4th July, 2001, I handed my notice in with my work in Mental Health with the National Health Service (NHS) and walked out of my job, pension and security – to live by faith and go into full time ministry.

I’ve been with Christian Friends of Israel (CFI) since 1986.  I became a CFI Area Representative in 1995, and due to the calling I felt, went full-time with this ministry in 2001.  But it was a massive step of faith to walk out of my secular job, and trust in the Lord God for all our provision.  But God is so amazing, and though the cost has been great, I wouldn’t want it any other way.

When I got saved in the Autumn of 1984 God turned my life around. From being a loser, unemployed and smoking dope (amongst a host of other things), God transformed me. In the late 80s God was with us as we smuggled Bibles into what was then the Soviet Union (see photos below). God was with us in the 90s as we helped build a hospice for children dying of AIDS in Romania – we even saw miracles there (again, some photos are below). And God is still with us as we try to remain faithful to our calling with Israel.

The God of Israel (The God of Abraham, Issac & Jacob) is so good and He has been faithful every step of this journey. Nothing that I have done can possibly have come from any ‘man made schemes‘ or due to me being ‘clever‘ as I’m clearly not.  What has been achieved can only have been done through the power of God, the blood of Y’shua (Jesus) the Messiah and the working of the Ruach ha-kodesh (רוח הקודש – the Holy Spirit). After all, God can use anyone – if He can speak through a donkey (Numbers 22:28) and use a worm in the Scriptures (in Job) He can even use me (and you!).  May His Holy Name be hallowed and glorified in all that we do, and may His blessing upon us and this ministry continue.

I love this picture.  This young child looked happy enough, however she was dying of full blown AIDS.  So many tears were shared during those years, and we were truly broken by what we saw.

Middle East News Correspondent

Along with speaking and teaching throughout the UK (along within Israel, Russia and Romania) I’m also constantly monitoring developments in Israel and reporting what impact that has on the world through my international news reports. In addition to reporting news not available through the general media, I try to glean the most important information available from a variety of areas including my many personal sources ~ Jews, Arabs & Christians ~ living in the Land of Israel. These Reports are intended to keep people informed on the most critical current events, so that they can be informed, equipped to act, and also pray about the current events in Israel and the Middle East.  In the days we are living in, I believe this is a vital part of my work, so that the Church can be active, informed, and be intercessors for the nation of Israel in these end days.

But I do love Israel – this is such an amazing place.  God is in the detail!

So what’s next?

Well, I slowly writing a book… this will eventually be my second publication.  My first was ‘Crimes Against Humanity’ and can be bought here: http://www.cfi.org.uk/crimes-against-humanity.html

This is all to honour and glorify the Name above all names – Yeshua the Messiah (Jesus Christ) – the Living LORD God – The God of Israel!
